The Merseyside Fire & Rescue Service Training and Development Academy is situated in Liverpool ( very close proximity to North West motorway links) and provides training and development for MF&RS employees, external/commercial customers, partner agencies and community groups.The Training and Development Academy is committed to creating a learning environment and opportunities where people are encouraged to increase, update and adapt their knowledge and skills. The Commercial Training Department offers a wide variety of fire safety related courses for individuals, business sector & industries across the country.

The Training & Development Academy has full approval from the UK's Maritime and Coastguard Agency (MCA) to offer all Fire Fighting course modules required by new entrants to the maritime industries or those wishing to update their certification.

MF&RS are the most qualified, competent and highly experienced instructors within Merseyside to deliver STCW fire fighting training to individuals and major organisations from across Great Britain and overseas.

We deliver theoretical training and the highly equipped academy has the facilities to develop realistic fire training in practical based scenarios. The highly skilled instructors use a number of training techniques that suit the students needs. 

All courses include: Tuition, course handout, personal protective equipment, three course lunch, refreshments, car parking, free wi - fi, car parking and certification.

How can we help you?

MF&RS offer open course dates for individual/group bookings. However, if the dates do not suit, and you have a minimum of 8 delegates per any one course, MFRS would be happy to accommodate any dates at your request (subject to availability). The MFRS Training Academy is a 7 day a week centre to accommodate shift rotas etc….

• Fire Prevention & Fire Fighting Course (STCW A-V 1-2)
• Advanced Fire Prevention & Fire Fighting Course (STCW A-V-1-3)
• Updated Proficiency in Fire Prevention & Fire Fighting (STCW Table A-V1/1-2)
• Updated Proficiency In Advanced Fire fighting (STCW Table A-V1/3)
• Tanker Fire Fighting (A-V/1-1-1 and A-V/1-21)
