Mintra

Mintra is approved as an educational and training institution with a maritime education by the Norwegian Maritime Authority (NMA), in accordance with section 14 of the regulations of 22 December.

STCW (International Convention on Standards of Training, Certification, and Watchkeeping for Seafarers as amended, including the 1995 and 2010 Manila Amendments) is a key IMO Convention.

Mintra can issue STCW certificates approved by the NMA on behalf of the IMO for the following courses:

On-board Assessor according to IMO model course 1.30, STCW rule 1/6 and section A-1/6

• Ship Security for crew with designated duties, STCW rule VI / 6, table A-VI / 6-2
• Ship Security Awareness, STCW rule VI / 6, table A-VI / 6-1
• Ship Security Officer (SSO), STCW rule VI / 5, table A-VI / 5
• Crowd & Crisis Management STCW-95, table A-V/2 and A-V/3
• Norwegian Maritime Rules & Regulations (STCW 1/10.2)

The STCW certificates have a 5-year expiry date apart from the Ship Security with and without duties certificates which don’t have an expiry date.

DNV-ST-0029 Approved Maritime Training Provider

The Mintra quality management system has been certified as complying with the DNV standard for Maritime Training Providers (DNV-ST-0029). This demonstrates strong training design delivery processes. The audit and certification process verified that we consistently analyse and adhere to applicable mandatory regulations, supporting our legal compliance.

DNV-ST-008 Learning Programme

Mintra has a number of courses certified to the DNV-ST-008 Learning Programme standard. These include:

• Cyber-Security Awareness Training
• Mooring Safety
• Transportation of Dangerous Goods by Sea
• MARPOL (Maritime Pollution)
• Ballast Water Management

The standard intends to ensure that training courses certified in accordance with this standard are properly designed, meet applicable requirements regarding contents, contain clear objectives for results, are delivered by qualified trainers and are assessed and improved in line with market demands and experience.
