Our training centre in Portavogie was established in 1986 to deliver safety training to commercial fishermen from all over Northern Ireland and further afield. Over the years we have extended our range of courses and recently installed a state of the art Fire Training Rig.

We deliver a comprehensive range of STCW, fishing, and maritime safety courses, led by experienced instructors and scheduled flexibly to accommodate crew rotations and operational demands.
Conveniently located in Portavogie, our modern training centre offers two fully equipped classrooms, a meeting room, and a state-of-the-art fire training facility. We take pride in delivering high-quality, practical training that is tailored to the needs of today's seafarers while ensuring compliance with industry standards. We are an MCA, Seafish and RYA approved centre.

Fishermen’s Mandatory Safety Training -  Health & Safety, Personal Survival Techniques, First Aid, Fire Fighting, Safety Awareness

Fishermen’s Skipper Certificates - Navigation, Stability, VHF GMDSS,  Engineering

STCW Basic Safety Training Courses - Personal Survival Techniques, First Aid, Fire Prevention and Fire Fighting, PSSR, Proficiency in Security Awareness.

Courses are open to anyone requiring maritime qualifications. Bespoke training can be arranged.

We also deliver onshore training as required eg: forklift and davit crane
