PLEASE NOTE: STCW Basic Safety Training and Refresher training courses run at our facility outside of Palma Centre which is approximately a 10-minute taxi ride. Students often share taxis after day one. This is due to Spanish law concerning live fires in built up areas. Our STCW Training ground is not the same location as our main office or training centre for other courses such as the MCA Chief Mates / OOW courses.
Course Description
STCW Refresher Training & Revalidation

From 1st January 2017, the STCW Survival and Fire Fighting Certificates will only be valid for 5 years.

STCW Basic Fire Prevention & Firefighting

One-day fire prevention and firefighting refresher module, which is instructed in compliance to STCW 95 Code A – VI/1-2 including shipboard firefighting organisation, the elements of fire and explosion, types of ignition, fire and smoke detection, breathing apparatus use and automatic alarm system familiarisation. Trainees will fight and extinguish actual fires using personal equipment, and practical instruction taught by licensed and certified firefighting professionals. It takes 1 day and includes a practical scenario-based exam. From 1st January 2017, the STCW Personal Survival Techniques and Fire Fighting Certificates will only be valid for 5 years.

STCW Personal Survival Techniques

½ Day Personal Survival Techniques Refresher module, also known as Basic Sea Survival, which is a requirement of STCW ’95 Code A – VI/1-1 consists of a refresher and update in theory contents of the syllabus followed by a pool-based practical session and is subject to ongoing assessment by the instructor. From 1st January 2017, the STCW Survival and Fire Fighting Certificates will only be valid for 5 years.

Entry Requirements

Candidates should have previously completed their full STCW Basic Safety Training.
