Content
You will gain knowledge about battery chemistry, battery structure, battery health, battery systems, and the hazards associated with batteries. The purpose of the course is to ensure that crew members on board understand key topics related to batteries.
The course covers, among other things:
- Batteries and the electrification of maritime vessels
- Fire and other hazards
- Situational awareness, preparedness, and teamwork
By completing the course, participants will gain knowledge on how to work safely with batteries and battery operations. They will be well prepared and have a solid understanding of the possible hazards and incidents that may occur, and how to handle them in a safe manner.
The course is conducted entirely as e-learning (online), which you can take whenever and wherever it suits you best. The course material is presented using text, images, videos, and animations. The course is also interactive, with tasks, chapter tests, and a final exam. After passing the exam, your digital certificate will be available for download on your profile.
