Course Description:
This course replaces the old First Aid at Sea course. The fundamental basics of this medical training course is to teach the learner how to effectively attend to injured crew members at your place of work or on-board your vessel(s). Learners are taught how to do the ‘primary survey’ and how to administer first aid treatment accordingly. Learners will have to demonstrate competency in CPR, Splinting, Wound Dressing, Control Bleeding and a host of additional ‘Basic First Aid Measures needed to perform the duties of the first response person in a medical emergency.
