It is the intent of Resolve Maritime Academy to provide realistic and practical firefighting training to the Maritime Industry, both public and private. The MCA Advance Firefighting Updating course will cover the required proficiency’s under the STCW 2010 standards and MCA regulations.
This 4-hour course is for those who are working in the maritime industry and already have their advanced firefighting certification. The Updating course provides the necessary skills check to meet the STCW code, table A-VI/3 and satisfies the MCA requirement. Upon completion of this course, the students will be able to develop a realistic shipboard fire prevention program, effectively organize fire teams and respond to fires aboard their ship and have an understanding of the effects of firefighting water on their vessel.
The course is limited to those who already have the advanced firefighting certification as well as maintained 1 year of sea time within the last 5 years. Students will have to sign a Self Declaration stated that the above requirements have been met.
A course completion certificate will be issued to the student upon successful completion of all course requirements and assessments.
