  Just completed the STCW Elementary First Aid Course with Salt. They were incredibly helpful, efficient and professional. There’s a good mix of practical and theory and plenty of time given for asking questions and discussions. Would highly recommend using these guys!

  Course was made fun and enjoyable!
  Stu was great, answered everyone’s questions and made to understand. Always checked everyone understood before we moved on.

  Everything was well organised and the course content and delivery was appropriate to the group. The Personal survival day was excellent as was the fire fighting day at Edinburgh Airport with Scott. He did a great job reassuring us all when going through the drills.
  Plenty of tea breaks too!! Thank you.

  Just completed my First Aid Course at SALT where I enjoyed every minute. Trainer Stu is a first rate instructor who made everyone feel relaxed from the word Go. A great well designed course presented in a fun and interactive way. Recommending this course (or any other marine training course at SALT) is a no brainer! Thank you.

  I am usually a bit skeptical about training courses - often it's a "death by powerpoint" box-ticking exercise. However, the STCA course offered by SALT and delivered by Stuart Black far exceeded my expectations.
  
  The course was interactive, interesting and participative. Moreover, it was thoroughly enjoyable. Stuart achieved and maintained a balance between professionalism and humour, whilst applying his practical experience of the maritime industry to ensure all delegates successfully passed the course.
  
  I highly recommend SALT.

  Highly recommend SALT Services for anyone requiring their STCW Certificates to work at sea. Stuart is a fantastic instructor and tutor and made my time on the course very enjoyable, and the facilities were great and easy to find. I feel well equipped with all the knowledge I need to work at sea.

  If anyone is thinking about the STCW course I would definitely recommend Salt Services. l had a great time during my week on the course. Stuart was brilliant and I learnt a lot over the week. The pool work and fire safety was brilliant, thank you to those involved! I put my fire training skills to good use that night with a small outdoor fire. A big thank you to Stuart and Salt Services for great experience!

  As an aspiring yachtie I decided to do my STCW 2010 with SALT Services which I can highly recommend! Stu was brilliant at delivering the course using his own experiences and stories relating to each topic. He kept it professional and entertaining, ensuring everyone was confident to pass. The practicals were a great experience and I can now go away knowing I have learned great skills to start me in my new career!

  Excellent Sea Survival training session was just completed with SALT. Stu’s a fantastic instructor, and brings good humor with his vast knowledge. Stu is not afraid to delve into the detail of maritime safety and standards when prompted. Training sessions often feel like a conversation and not just a learning experience.

  I have just finished a 5 day training course with SALT services and my gosh I was impressed! The knowledge that our trainer Stu had was dumbfounding but almost more importantly Stu made our experience fun which, makes it a lot easier to retain all the new information. Thanks a bunch Stu!

  Having worked offshore for 24 years I found this course and the content very useful and enjoyable. I especially liked the lifesaving drills practiced in the swimming pool and the time spent firefighting at Edinburgh airport which was a Great experience. The course was delivered in a friendly informal manner but done in a first class professional manner. Highly recommended.

  Very good in depth training course. The knowledge and experience of Stu make the course information easy to take in and give a real life experience of life at sea.
  
  The 2 practical days, 1 in the pool and 1 fire fighting were brilliant and very hands on. Good real experience compared with other courses I have completed.
  
  Tip: if you are needing somewhere to stay this bed and breakfast in 50 metres over the road and is brilliant. The Old school house bed breakfast. 2 Woodhall Road, Colinton, Edinburgh

  Excellently presented and extremely thorough course, and the venue is easy to locate with plenty of parking nearby. Very hands on and not death by PowerPoint, like a lot of training courses I've been on in the past! Would highly recommend.
