Purpose:

The aim of this course is to provide the necessary knowledge and skills for monitoring and use of the radar and radar plotting device.
The course is designed to meet the requirements of Article 71, paragraph 1 of the Ordinance on vocations and Certification of Seafarers ("Official Gazette", number 130/13), the Ministry of Maritime Affairs, Transport and Infrastructure and is also based on the requirements of the STCW Code that are listed in Table A- II / 1 and BI / 12 and the guidelines of the IMO model course 1.07.

Course content:

  • Theoretical background and use of marine radar systems
  • Activate and tune the radar according to the manufacturer's instructions
  • Manual Radar Plotting
  • Use of radar for the purpose of navigation safety
  • Use of radar in collision avoidance or hazardous locations
  • Description of the ARPA system
  • Working with the ARPA system

Enrollment conditions

  • Identity card or passport
  • 1 color image
  • Certificate of medical examination

 

After successfully completing the course and examinations at the Harbor Master's Office, candidates will receive a certificate of competence - Radar monitoring and charting and use of a working-level ARPA issued by the Ministry of the Sea, Transport and Infrastructure of the Republic of Croatia.
