Mandatory every five years for crew designated to provide onboard medical care. This refresher maintains your STCW Medical Care (A-VI/4-2) certification, ensuring you remain prepared to handle serious medical emergencies at sea.

Course Content:

• Advanced Shipboard First Response
  Refresh your ability to assess, stabilise, and manage critical medical emergencies during extended offshore passages.

• Use of Medical Equipment Onboard
  Review practical use of defibrillators, oxygen systems, stretchers, and ship’s medical kits in real-life scenarios.

• Remote Medical Consultation Protocols
  Practise TMAS communication procedures, enabling effective treatment guidance from shore-based doctors.

• Wound Management & Patient Monitoring
  Update your skills for burns, fractures, infections, and long-term patient monitoring before evacuation or recovery.

Training is conducted at our MCA-approved facility in Phuket.

Entry Requirements

Minimum Age: 18 years

Valid Medical Care (A-VI/4-2) certificate issued by an IMO White List country

Expired certificates accepted for refresher (must have previously completed the full course)

Certificates with no issue date require completion of the full Medical Care course
