Holders of an existing Proficiency in Fast Rescue Boats cerification are required to complete this updated training course to maintain proficiency every five years.

This one-day course comprises of theory and practical sessions in the classroom, at our marina facility, in open water of Phang Na Bay and in the pool. All attendees are required to be fit enough to undertake practical open water boat handling exercises and in water capsize drills (swimming pool based).

Galileo Maritime Academy is directly accredited by the Maritime and Coastguard Agency (MCA) of the Department of Transport of the United Kingdom to issue MCA Approved Certificates.

Entry Requirements

Documented experience of being involved in fast rescue boat drills and have experience in handling small craft.
Valid Proficiency in Fast Rescue Boats or Updated Proficiency in Fast Rescue Boats certificate.
ENG 1 medical certificate or acceptable alternative.
Note. ENG 1 is not available in Thailand. We are able to provide details of where to obtain a Norwegian Seafarers Medical in Bangkok, which is an acceptable equivalent.
