This Advanced Rig Move course will enable participants to understand and to practice with the use of a simulator, the theoretical and practical operations for safely moving a Jack-up Oil Rig from one location to another. We use state of the art 3D software for our simulator. Our instructor is a Master / OIM and is one of the more experienced Rig Movers in the Industry.

​The course will mostly consist of simulator exercises (4 days). There will be 1 to 2 hours of theory for the first 3 days. The theory covers both Rig Move Operations and Tow Vessel Operations. Several practical simulations will be carried out throughout the course, enabling the student to experience and practice in real time, issues that can occur during rig move operations. Simulation exercises will be performed for Jack-up rigs utilizing multiple tugs and anchor operations.

Rig move simulations will include: preloading, jacking, punch through, approaching open water locations and alongside fixed jackets, running anchors and winching in alongside a jacket, etc.
