During this four-week course you will receive tuition and guided study in preparation for the MCA oral exam to achieve Master (Unlimited) certification.

Notice of Eligibility (NoE) and oral exams guidance

When you have accrued sufficient sea time to sit an oral exam with the MCA, you are required to apply for a Notice of Eligibility (NoE).

Prerequisites

You must have completed 36 months’ watchkeeping service while holding an OOW Unlimited II/1 Certificate of Competency. This period may be reduced to 24 months if at least 12 months of such seagoing service has been served as Chief Mate while holding a Chief Mate Unlimited II/2 Certificate of Competency.

You must also hold a valid STCW certificate in Proficiency in Medical Care and Human Element, Leadership and Management (Management Level) before taking your MCA oral exam. If not already held, these courses can be undertaken with us outside of the main certification course.
A valid personal medical fitness certificate recognised by the MCA.
