Maritime Professional Training
MPT is the most complete full service private maritime school in the United States and has been training mariners since 1983.
Our expansive Fort Lauderdale Campus includes the latest technologies in SMART classrooms, most realistic engineering and training labs, waterside training facilities, as well as 3 Full Mission bridge simulators.
In addition to the MPT Main Campus our training programs also take place at the MPT SMARTTM Simulation Center, Marine Tech Shipboard Firefighting Site, the Sea Survival Training Facility, and the MPT Fleet of Training vessels!
Over the years, we have had the privilege of training thousands of commercial mariners, yachting professionals, cruise ship staff, and enthusiasts. This has enabled us to develop programs that are success oriented, with unbeatable pass rates, as well as cost and time efficient. This level of success has resulted from having a staff of dedicated, licensed professionals who care about our students, and are willing to work as hard as it takes to ensure each students success.
MPT offers all levels of certification, license and document study programs, many of these offer in-school testing and are USCG Approved and recognized by many foreign administrations. Our training programs are designed to meet and exceed IMO standards and are STCW Compliant.
Our client list includes commercial shipping companies, marine corporations, the military, vessel management firms, the world's best super yachts and thousands of individuals whose word of mouth recommendations are responsible for our success.
We invite you to come and tour our school, meet our instructors, talk to our students, and see what we have to offer. Once you have seen us, you won't go anywhere else!

. John BEHRENS AND DARIEN Munoz both need raises !!!!! I made 100 on my cpr first aid exam!! Excellent instructors
I have been going to MPT for 9 years and have done all my classes through them. Its a great school however, Terry that works in the front office has attitude and more importantly will give you wrong information on courses. Tried to tell me I needed to do a number of courses in order to get the license I initially inquired about. Terrible employee and tries to take money from you.
People from all over the world go here for the world class training! The front office is always helpful & friendly! Especially Terri and Shirly! They really help out allot and that makes the whole experience that much better!
These folks a super helpful! I enjoy every time I interact with them and they have been super helpful along my journey. Highly recommend.
Too bad they can’t follow up with people who reach out for information. Went in to see someone a few weeks ago. Individual wasn’t in so I left my email. STILL nothing from them. Way to drop the ball and lose a potential student. Not sure when communicating and simple, common courtesy and customer service became such a Herculean task.
Great school, great instructors. Good location close to many hotels.
Very professional and they put the mariners needs first. And of course you can't beat the locatipn...sunny FT. Lauderdale
They know their stuff and they are extremely helpful
Awesome experience taking a couple classes here. All the staff have years of practical experience and are super engaged. I will be coming back for more training in the future and can not recommend this place enough.
nice place to be, awesome training and good managements

Customer service is great facility is clean and accommodating
Excellent training academy with professional staff making successful students.
I attended MPT for my AEC1&2 courses and loved the entire experience. Kind, witty, and funny teachers taught me much more than I expected. I'll be attending for other maritime courses in the future. And you should too.
I visited MPT today and spoke with Miss Teri and she was extremely helpful, polite, and knowledgeable about all the needs that I had. She made sure that I had all of the necessary information so that I could successfully accomplish renewing my Captain's license
Great school for maritime training. Professional and personable staff. Great place to network and get certified. A friend referred this school to me, and now I'm referring it to you!
Great sea school. Very friendly helpful staff
Awesome staff, Awesome teaching. Allen was my professor and I couldn’t ask for anyone better. Definitely recommend it!
They help me get ready to become a merchant mariner and they thoroughly help me on knowing the basics, emergencies and tips onboard!
Just went through their Master Captains course, every staff member I talked to was very professional and friendly. It is a lot of information to take in in two weeks, but my instructor (C. Chavez) was very patient and was able to simplify and thoroughly explain anything I didn't fully comprehend. I will definitely recommend MPT to anyone who is wanting to further their maritime training. Big shout out to the ladies that work the front desk as well! I know that they most likely deal with some silly questions and big egos on a daily basis, but any time I saw them they always had a smile on their face and a positive attitude. Very awesome experience overall!
Great Maritime School. Best in the United States. Came here for my 100 ton capt license. Will be coming back for more classes. Very professional
I took my masters captains license here and had a good experience. The captain Chris Chavez the instructor knew what he was talking about and was a great teacher.
Having been to many maritime schools. This one is by far the best. The instructors are in or were in the industry and teach not only how to pass the test but real world knowledge. The admin staff are amazing, you tell them your end result and they'll tell you all the classes you need to get there. I've rarely been upselled for classes I didn't need. They cover USCG and MCA. Commercial and yachting. Engineering to steward dept. And all things safety basic to advanced.
