City of Glasgow College

City of Glasgow College is the leading Maritime College in Scotland offering a range of accredited deck, engineering, Oil and Gas, Offshore and maritime training courses approved by the MCA, RYA, MNTB and other awarding bodies. We employ highly qualified and experienced maritime lecturers including serving masters and industry experts.

The Faculty of Nautical Studies is based at our Riverside Campus, which opened in August 2015. This new £66m building has been designed with maritime training in mind and facilities available include ship simulator suites (bridge and engine room), a full High Voltage (HV) switchboard, workshops and a working ship’s engine room.

  • Over 40 years of experience in delivering training in the nautical/maritime subject area and enrol 360 UK and international deck and engine cadets each year
  • One of only four UK colleges recognised to deliver merchant marine officer training to chief engineer and captain standards
  • Registered with maritime bodies including the Maritime & Coastguard Agency (MCA) and the Merchant Navy Training Board (MNTB) providing evidence that we deliver high quality, globally recognised maritime education
